Monday Monday

Okay folks, I'm back again. Today was definitely Monday all day long. Hated to get up and go to school, instead of going to Vegas. Tough day after having missed a few days last week, just trying to catch up. On the diet front, was not too hungry, so ate 2pts worth of soup, then was STARVING when I got home, of course. I called home and asked hubby to heat up the oven, I was ready for pizza and beer. Thank you WW. I know it is not supposed to go like this, but because of the plan, I could have two pieces of frozen pizza and two beers. If I'm hungry later, I have a few points for blackberries and veggies if I need them. Groovy.

Right now, my eyes are swollen, and I am emotionally drained from watching Oprah and the overweight teens. Man, that was tough to watch and can't even imagine having to deal with that in the jungle that is high school. Crap! I thought moving in the middle of high school was hard. That part where they all got angry and shouted at their parents was what got me good.

I would get tired of Oprah saying that weight is not about food, but about some emotional baggage or something, and I thought that was a load of crap. After today's show, I can maybe see that I was pissed at my parents for being selfish...either working too much, or running around with their friends instead of staying at home. I think it's true that what kids want, and need, is their parents. Doodoo! I'm getting all heavy here. Need to get on the treadmill, which I will agree is good for a little mood boost or nerve settler.

I know that some folks never get over crappy childhoods, but thank God I married my match the second time around and am grateful every day for that crazy man who is my husband.

What does all of this have to do with Vegas today? I think that one of the reasons I love the place so much is that you feel free to be yourself, even if you are not the "perfect" or best self you want to be. You can put on your sparkly clothes, tease up your hair and spray yourself with glitter( okay, that's what I do!! You should try it!) and feel like a million bucks and even know that there is a chance you may win a chunk of that. And even if you don't you have lots of fun along the way.

So, I'll sign off now. Thanks for staying tuned. Visit often.

  1. Sheesh. I knew you loved Vegas, but I didn't know you loved Vegas enough to loose 20 lbs in three months! I wish you the best. Last year I had the goal to lose weight before our Spring Break cruise. I made it to 10, but thank goodness I didn't gain them back on the boat!
